Ohio State Schedules Colorado for 2011
The Buckeyes had an opening in their 2011 football schedule and were able to secure the Oregon Buffaloes to play for a fee of $1.4 million. In a single game contract with the newest member of the Pac-10, Gene Smith feels the university was able to work out a good deal. Rumors were that CU wanted closer to $2 million for the pre-season game. According to the Dispatch.com, normal single game contracts range between $400,000 and $700,000.

The Buckeyes non-conference schedule for 2011 is now Akron, Toledo, at Miami (FL), and Colorado starting September 3rd. The Big Ten schedule has not been determined at this time due to the expansion of the league, adding Nebraska starting in 2011. Future years are also up in the air at this time until decisions are made about conference alignment.
Gene Smith feels the match-up will be an exciting addition to the 2011 year for fans of both BCS conference teams. The last time the teams met was in 1986 with Ohio State winning 13-10. Colorado had a mediocre season last year finishing 3-9 and 2-6 in their division of the Big 12. The game between Ohio State and Colorado next year will be September 24th.
