Ohio State Buckeyes Dominate Ohio Bobcats
So much for the battle of Ohio being much of a battle as Ohio State dominated a MAC team in Ohio Stadium on Saturday 43-7. With 34 first half points and near perfect offensive play by the Buckeyes, the Bobcats had a hard stopping the Buckeyes. And Ohio’s struggling offensive didn’t put up much of an effort until the fourth quarter when they finally held the ball for more than 6 minutes.

Terrelle Pryor was almost perfect on the day going for 16 straight completions in the first half. Only an interception at the end of 2nd quarter and another 3rd quarter interception put a bad taste in the junior quarterback’s mouth. He ran for 54 yards on the day with one touchdown run. While throwing for 235 yards and two touchdowns.
Early Scores
Ohio State put up 34 points in the first half against Ohio, scoring on a regular basis with their first team in the game for most of the period. The only scare came when Ohio return-man Julian Posey returned a kick-off for a touchdown in the first quarter. But a penalty for a block in the back on, the ready to make the play Ohio State defender, Dorian Bell overturned the play on the field. Ohio State dominated the yards and time of possession for the game putting up 439 yards to 158 yards and holding the ball near 38 minutes compared to 22 minutes by the Bobcats.
Injuries
Injures were an issue for the Buckeyes as starting cornerback Devon Torrence had a hip bruise early in the game but was able to return. Other Buckeyes were carted off the field and unable to return including Donnie Evege, Dorian Bell and Travis Howard. Evege had a dislocated left elbow while reports were that Howard had a shoulder injury that kept him from returning.
Newsome Gets the Start
Linebacker Jonathan Newsome got his first start when he replaced Andrew Sweat who was injured during the Miami (FL) game last weekend. Sweat completed the Miami game but will now need some time to fully recover. Etienne Sabino had competed against Sweat for the starting strong-side linebacker position in fall camp but has requested to be redshirted this season to have two more years of eligibility when Ross Homan and Brian Rolle graduate.
