Rob Harley Previews The 2010 Ohio State Buckeyes

Buckeye alumni and Football Fever College Football Analyst Rob Harley tells us about his latest endeavor coaching in addition to the national status of Buckeye football and a preview of what 2010 has to offer the Ohio State team. Rob was a part of the 2002 National Championship team in addition to doing sideline commentary with the Big Ten Network in 2007.

Will you be covering OSU football this fall for ABC 6?

“I'll be covering the Buckeyes sparingly since I'm coaching LBs at Ohio Dominican this Fall. ODU (Ohio Dominican) has become the OSU of Division II since we have 6 former Buckeyes on staff!”

What is your favorite moment from last year?

“My favorite moment from last season was the hit on kickoff in the Michigan game, was it Sabino that put it on him? Either way that set the tone!”

Did the Rose Bowl change everyone's minds about the quality of Ohio State football?

“I think the Rose Bowl was the first step to showing the masses that there's not much difference from the Big Ten to the Pac 10, SEC, etc. The Buckeyes were able to shut down a spread offense and put points on the board. Not to mention seal the victory with a nice drive at the end of the game (thank you Jake Ballard for the circus catch). However consistency is the hallmark of excellence so we'll see if OSU can make it a trend.”

What will be the keys this season for the Buckeyes to get back to a BCS bowl and win the Big Ten?

“As far as keys to this season the big deal will be Pryor's progression from athlete to QB. Can he become a weapon under center in the pass game, as well as on the edge with his legs? At the end of the day the Buckeyes will live and die by the play of the big boys up front. The O-line and D-line will seal the fate of this squad in 2010. Can this experienced O-line take the next step and become a dominant unit? Can the D-line find a compliment to Cam Heyward like Thad Gibson last season? And let's not forget the ability to go on the road to Wisconsin and Iowa, take a punch, and still come away with the victory. It'll have to be a ‘November to Remember’ and it'll undoubtedly come down to that last month. Run the gauntlet of Penn State, Iowa, and Michigan and the Buckeyes will hoist up the Big Ten championship.”
