Nike Displays New Michigan Game Jerseys for 2010
A couple days after the BrutusReport.com switched to their new 2010 logo, Nike has released the design of the retro jersey Ohio State will were when they defeat the Maize and Blue/”That Team Up North” November 27th this fall. The jersey is designed around the uniforms the 1942 Buckeye team wore. The 1942 Ohio State team won the national title.

Ohio State wore a similar retro jersey last year for the Michigan game considered the greatest college rivalry. Ten other teams are also wearing Nike retro jerseys at some time during the 2010 season including Miami, Boise State, and Virginia Tech. The jerseys for Ohio State are a part of Nike’s Pro Combat uniforms. They have a camouflage base layer and and an American flag on the shoulder.
Last year’s jersey was a tribute to the 1954 OSU team and was considered ugly by a number of different news outlets. Not having buckeye leaves on a silver helmet, creates some discomfort for a number of loyal Buckeye fans.
Not to mention, this could be the final year that Ohio State plays Michigan in the final game of the regular season. With the Big Ten expanding to 12 teams and breaking into divisions, keeping The Game as the final game between the two teams creates some scheduling issues. A back-to-back matchup with both teams making the Championship Game is an major concern. For this to not happen, the teams would need to be placed into the same division.
