Ohio State enters this Saturday's game against Nebraska 7-1 overall after a tough win against Penn State at home. Nebraska welcomes in the Buckeyes to Lincoln with a usual type of year, unranked at 3 and 6 overall. The Cornhuskers are a 14.5 point underdog. Ohio State hopes to bump their national ranking with a good performance after not impressing against the Nittany Lions.

I'm not sure what to make of Nebraska football. Do they have anything whatsoever to play for this year? There's no doubt they've gotten better under Scott Frost, but this is about the sixth team since the Huskers were good in 1994 that has gotten better each year under a new coach. All I know is I won't be surprised if they are 6-6, because if Purdue can do it, why not Nebraska.

Ohio State is undefeated in the Big Ten conference

Ohio State lost to Oregon in their second game this year and currently ranked one spot lower than them nationally. The Buckeyes hope they can finish the year with wins against Nebraska, Michigan State and Michigan and finish in the top 4. They have one of the strongest remaining schedules in the country. The Buckeyes have been solid on the road and hope to continue. They have road wins against Indiana, Minnesota, and Rutgers. Lincoln will be a little bit rowdier than the stadiums they have been in before.

Nebraska Coach Scott Frost

Nebraska head coach Scott Frost is up against a wall and looking for a win on Saturday. A talented veteran team that rebounded from a first week loss to Illinois, beating Buffalo and Fordham seemed to right the ship. But they now are 3-6 overall and looking to get back to winning. Frost a former player at Nebraska was brought in to bring back greatness to the program, but now appears to be on his way out if he cannot right the ship.

Ohio State's defense has Rebounded

The Buckeyes now lead the country with 6 defensive touchdowns and their resurgent defense is a big reason for their success. Against Penn State they were able to add seven points to their total during a time when points were not as quick coming as in prior games. Matt Barnes has been calling defensive plays since Oregon and that has made a big difference.

Nebraska Protection Issues

Quarterback Adrian Martinez has been sacked quite a bit this season for Nebraska and Ohio State is the best in the Big Ten at sacking the quarterback. Look for the Buckeyes to get after the quarterback, especially on passing downs, on Saturday.

Ohio State should be able to cover the spread against the struggling Nebraska Cornhuskers, getting their fair share of touchdowns, sacks and interceptions along the way.
