This Saturday, October 24th, the Big Ten Conference will finally let Ohio State play a football game for the 2020 season. At 12pm in Ohio Stadium (The Horseshoe) with no fans present, the Buckeyes will welcome the Nebraska Cornhuskers for a match-up that looks to be one-sided. Ohio State has the clear advantage with personnel and won last year’s game 48-7 with Justin Fields throwing 3 touchdowns and JK Dobbins running for 177 yards.
COVID 19
There will be no band and the attendance is limited to the low 1000s. FOX will add crowd noise to the broadcast. Those favored to win this season haven’t always come out on top with the weird differences in each teams ability to train and get ready for games because of Covid 19.
A look at Ohio State 2020
There has been some talk about Ohio State not having great experience at corner back and not having the preseason games to prepare their new starters. Justin Fields is the difference maker, athletic and a really good passer, with an offensive line that has a number of returning starters and a great group of receivers. Plus Ryan Day is good at getting his team ready for every game and has not given up a game like Urban Meyer sometimes did.
Nebraska 2020
Nebraska players to watch include quarterback Adrian Martinez. A dual threat quarterback that could give a young inexperienced defense trouble. The team’s up-tempo play calling could also be tricky as the Buckeyes try to find their way, the first time on the field this season. A 5-7 team in 2019, the are expected to lose by 26 points on Saturday.
Ohio State 2020 Football Schedule
Ohio State looks ahead to Penn State on the 31st of October followed by a month of bad teams in Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, and Illinois. The season ends with Michigan State and Michigan.
