Pickerington Central prospect Ty Hamilton verbally committed to play football at Ohio State in 2020 after a visit to Columbus this past weekend. He comes to OSU with the versatility to play an end or a tackle on the defensive line.
Davon Hamilton
His brother, Davon, is a senior for the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2019. He was a three-star d-line prospect and has added about 35 pounds since leaving the Pickerington Tigers and coming to OSU. The older Hamilton was a part of the tackle rotation in 2018, starting games in place of Robert Landers when he was injured. He racked up 16 tackles, with 3 and a half for loss. He is slated to start this year on early roster projections.
Other pairs of brothers to come through Ohio State include the Bosas, Borens and the Hookers.
Ohio State 2020 Class
The Pickerington Central defensive lineman is the 12th player in the 2020 Buckeye class and 5th from Ohio. The class is loaded with offensive talent at this time and ranked 7th nationally based on those players.
Ty Hamilton Rankings
The 6'3", 250 lbs. high school senior is a 3-star recruit according to national rankings and the 26th best player in Ohio. He plays defensive end at Pickerington Central and will most likely move inside like his brother at OSU.
He will come in as a project for Larry Johnson but plays at full effort every down. Johnson likes versatile lineman like Hamilton, who can play on the edge or inside.
He has developed his technique over the years working with Johnson at camps and getting insight from his brother. He looks forward to staying close to home.
Offers And Visits
Ty Hamilton is consider the 44th best strong side defensive end in the nation and he chose the Buckeyes from a list of 20 plus offers that included Penn State, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Michigan State, and West Virginia.
He visited Ohio State over the weekend before committing. He was on an official visit to Penn State the week prior. And one additional visit to Michigan was planned but has now been cancelled.
