Michigan Offensive Lineman Grant Toutant flips to the Buckeyes

A Penn State Loss

For the second time in 14 days, Ohio State has hopped in to remove a top recruit from Penn State. Dissimilar to five-star receiver Julian Fleming, four-star tackle Grant Toutant had given his pledge to the Nittany Lions, just to shockingly flip to the Buckeyes Sunday night. A long-term Penn State commit Toutant stunned the world, posting on Twitter that he was decommitting from the Lions, and going to Columbus.

Grant Toutant

Toutant was verbally dedicated to Penn State since November a year ago.

The 6'7", 320lbs lineman from Michigan has seen his rankings rise and now is a top 25 tackle and one of 300 players ranked highest in the country. Toutant focused on Penn State yet was offered by both MSU and OSU in January. His footwork, following quite some time of playing b-ball, will enable him to exploit a major sized frame.

While Coach Studrawa is the o-line coach, previous Michigan coach Greg Mattison is the one credited for his enlistment, which means those new Michigan staff members are beginning to win players for the Buckeyes.

With a genuine o-tackle body, Toutant can play inside, yet is fit on the edge and that is the place Ohio State intends to put him.

The Penn State Class

As OSU made a push to enlist him, Penn State added five linemen to a strong 2020 class. With the loss of Toutant, the Nittany Lions still have an incredible squad of linemen including four-star Aaryn Parks (or do they), from National Christian Academy (MD).

The Ohio State Class

The Buckeyes are arranging a major summer this year, they have a ton of prominent visits the following two months, possibly the firecrackers have begun discharging sooner than anticipated.

Toutant joins Luke Wypler of St Joseph (NJ), Paris Johnson of Princeton (OH), Trey Leroux of Norwalk (Ohio) and Jakob James of Elder (OH) as linemen in OSU's 2020 class. The class is at the top of the Big Ten and positioned No. 11 nationally.

Toutant gives Ohio State 11 players, and moved the Buckeyes up in the national class rankings, directly behind Notre Dame.
