DeShaun Thomas Leads the Buckeyes past Indiana
Last season’s Indiana Mr. Basketball, DeShaun Thomas, showed why he was a high rated recruit coming out of high school by taking over the Indiana v Ohio State game yesterday in Value City Arena. He put up 22 points with 14 points coming consecutively during the first half to put Ohio State ahead. William Buford also was impressive with 15 points in a 82-61 victory. Center Jared Sullinger played limited minutes due to foul trouble.

This was the 19th home victory for the No 2 Ohio State Basketball team which is a school record. Jon Diebler and David Lighty also scored in double digits with 11 points a piece. Dallas Lauderdale was able to play more than his average number of minutes due to starting center Jared Sullinger facing foul trouble early and through out the match up. Thomas has been waiting for a break-out game while being a consistent producer off the bench this year.
Thad Matta was looking for an opportunity to reinsert Sullinger into the line-up with his 2 fouls during the first half. But the prolific scoring of Thomas allowed the Buckeye Head Coach to keep the star center on the bench and rested for the second period. One of the highlights for fans at home was the viewing of Sullinger singing Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” by the crew airing the game. They were also kind enough to spare everyone from point guard Aaron Craft’s falsetto version.
